ARTICLE REQUIREMENTS

The article should be written in Russian in accordance with the requirements (see below). File in doc, docx format with text. It is better rtf, as in this format the text will not change when forwarded.

The originality of the text must be at least 80% according to the Anti-Plagiarism system.

In addition to the article from new authors of the magazine a colour photo of author(s) is required (in jpg, jpeg format, resolution from 300 dpi) – shoulder portrait on a homogeneous background (passport photos are not accepted).

Recommended structure of the article

The text of the article should be divided into parts, whose headings should be signed (bold type, italic type, left-align, indented): Abstract. Keywords. Introduction. Methods. Literature Review. Results and Discussions. Conclusions. Literature.

No full stop after the subtitle.

Specify each point.

The Abstract should ideally be 100–150 words. Font 12 Times New Roman. The abstract should include information about the relevance and purpose of the study, methodology and results, but not repeat conclusions verbatim. The abstract should not contain references and abbreviations. The title «Abstract» should be written in bold type, without indentation and dot after it. 

Keywords: 5–8 words. Key words are separated by a semicolon. No dot after the last word. The title «Keywords» is written in bold, italics, without indentation, with a colon after the title.

The abstract and key words should be written in Russian and in English.

The Introduction defines the essence of the problem, includes brief description of relevance, aims and perspectives of the research as well as author’s position on the problem.

The Literature review contains analysis (review) of used literature and material to substantiate theoretical basis of the research. It should name the main works of predecessors underlying the research, show general research trends of the topic and specify the gaps in research, which the article clarifies.

The Methods should name and preferably describe the methodology used by the author to achieve the results.  

The Results and Discussion discloses the main body of the article, the general statements and novelty of the research, which are manifested in the ideas which the author has arrived at as a result of the study, and also shows the comparison and interpretation of the research results with similar studies and determines the place of the results in the structure of scientific knowledge.

The Conclusion should be a concise description of the main body of the article, including a statement of the main point of the conclusions regarding the purpose of the study, the scientific value of the research and possible areas of application.

It is suggested that about 15–20 papers be placed in the list of References. First domestic, then foreign. Among them the preference is given to the publications reviewed in Scopus and WoS. It is obligatory to include DOI for them. Include 2-3 papers published in the last 3–5 years.

We emphasise that all these requirements are of a recommendatory nature, but highly desirable.

A special request for the authors: the article should necessarily contain quotations and references to the texts of previous journals «Mythologos» and collections of the conference «Myth in History, Politics, Culture«.

This is a requirement imposed by the organizers on the assumption that the authors of the collection and the participants of the conference should be acquainted with the latest works of those researchers who are engaged in the study of the topics close to them. 

In addition, it is considered important to begin or end an article with a theoretical summary that addresses the key issues of myth and mythmaking and their ontological, epistemological and axiological origins.

Requirements to the text of the article

The volume of text of article from 0,5 to 1 printer’s page (20-40 thousand characters), font Times New Roman, type size 13, single spacing. Margins on all sides 2 cm. Paragraph: 1.25 cm.

Elements of article formatting: UDC, DOI: (left without indentation), empty line, TITLE (in capital letters, bold type, centre), empty line, author’s surname, first name, patronymic (bold type), place of work, in brackets — city, country. Blank line. An abstract and key words (font 12) in Russian and English, on a blank line. The main text (13th indented font), a blank line, the Literature (bold font, centred, without indentation), a blank line. After the given data a full stop is not put.

Let’s specify the details.

In the top left corner (without indentation) line by line: UDC (in bold) and DOI (without a number), in the centre in bold, capital letters – TITLE, across the line — name of the author, below — (in bold, straight line) the name of the scientific institution. City and country should be given in parentheses. No full stop is given.

An abstract + keywords.

Then all these data in English. 

Pages are not numbered.

Author’s full name and surname (in bold italics) should be given after the manuscript text and references.

Full name in bold italics, indented.

On a new line: position with the place of work (if the participant does not work in the field of science or has no degree, it is written «researcher»), scientific degree, academic rank, in brackets: city of residence and country. Separate line: e-mail.

The name of the scientific institution should be written in full according to the official title.

Then the same information is published in English. Please be reminded that all words in the English-language list should start with capital letters.

A reference list is given at the end of the text under the heading References. The sources are listed alphabetically, following the example given below. The list of references is not numbered. The number of pages in the references is mandatory. The place (city) of publication should be written in full.

References to the reference list in the text are marked in square brackets, indicating the page to which the reference is made (if necessary): [Naidysh 2021: 364], where the author’s surname is written first, then the year of publication of the article or monograph, and then, after a colon, the number of pages. If the cited author uses two or more works of the same year of publication, write [Stavitskiy, 2012a] or [Stavitskiy 2012b: 315], etc. If there is a reference to a collective monograph or the work of a group of authors, instead of the surname, the title should be written.

Please do not put a full stop at the end of the sentence before the reference.

Literature must be followed by Literature, i.e. translation of literature into English.

It is reminded that English words (nouns, verbs, adjectives) in the title must begin with a capital letter.

The publisher should be followed by Publ.

The number of pages in the articles is indicated by Pp. A dash (-), not a hyphen (–), should be placed between page numbers.

After domestic papers should be added (In Russian).

A special request to the authors:

1) Pay attention to dashes in the text and when dividing pages in the reference list. A dash (–) should not be substituted for a hyphen (-).

2) Check all word spacing so that there are no double spacing or more.

3) Please proofread your text and check compliance with the rules, as proofreading and editing texts that are not proofread by the authors takes a lot of time during the proofreading process and delays the deadline for the collection and journals.

Remember that the organizers not only bear the cost of reviewing articles, editorial services, ISSN and DOI for the journal, placing articles in the scientific electronic library www.elibrary.ru. and other databases, sending an electronic version of the Proceedings to libraries in Russia and other countries, but also spend a lot of time to check, review, proofread and edit the texts you have sent.

In this connection we ask you to help the editor to comply exactly with all these requirements and to proofread the text of your article as far as possible.
